Why shouldn't we be able to have an evening out without the kids to celebrate Halloween with our friends, and have fun?

31 Days of Halloween - Day 9

Spider Web Game
(another game from the CD from Pat Catans!)

You’ll need:

• A ball of yarn for each player
• Halloween Music

Give each player a ball of yarn. Players tie one end of the yarn loosely around their waist and then stand in a circle. Play your favorite Halloween music CD. Whenever the music stops, players toss their ball of yarn to anyone in the circle. Then, each player wraps the yarn around any part of his or her body—around their leg, arm, waist, foot, fingers, but not around the neck. Play the music again, tossing the yarn to another player when the music stops. Continue until players run out of yarn. There are no winners or losers, and players will be entertained for quite a long time. Plus, they’ll have fun untangling themselves.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 8

Dead Finger Cookies
(I found this online, but cannot remember the web site!! If this is your recipe or Idea please let us know so we can give you credit!)

Cookies give new meaning to the term “finger food.”

You’ll need:

Cookie dough
Almonds
Royal icing

Put refrigerated sugar cookie dough in a large plastic storage bag. Cut a “finger-size” corner off the bag. Carefully squeeze finger-length dough onto a cookie sheet. Use a dull side of butter knife to carve lines into each finger—knuckles and wrinkles. Use an almond to make a fingernail impression at the tip of each finger cookie. Bake the cookies according to the package directions. After baking, “glue” an almond to each finger with icing.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 6

Monstermallows Treat

I got these off a $1 CD I bought at Pat Catans!! Telling you all, I LOVE that store!

Frightfully fun treats to eat and to share!

You’ll need:

Marshmallows
Green food coloring paste
Chocolate chips
Small round candies for eyes
Thin pretzel sticks
Craft sticks
New paintbrushes
Foam cups

Stick a craft stick up through the bottom of a marshmallow so that the marshmallow rests on top of the stick forming a "head". Paint the entire marshmallow green with the green food coloring paste. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips. Dip the top of the marshmallow into the chocolate to create his "hair".

Insert the sticks into the bottom of a foam cup. Place the cup and marshmallow stick into the refrigerator for few minutes to harden the chocolate. Next, dip two round candies into the melted chocolate and “glue” them to the head for eyes. Paint on a chocolate mouth. Break off the ends of a pretzel stick. Poke one piece into each side of the monster’s head. Wrap each Monstermallow in cellophane or plastic wrap to give away as treats.

Recently on our local news they have been talking about sex offenders, and how they are not living at their listed address, or how they are not registering at all when they move. 

My Day 5 idea is to utilize the resources we have available to us, and find out who is living in our neighborhood!! 
One of our local cities is trying to ban registered sex offenders from decorating and handing out candy for Halloween.

These cute Halloween cups are just 3/$0.99 at Walgreen's this month! There are lots of cute things you could do with these, but a great idea is writing the child's name on them and putting the gift bag in them for your Halloween Party. They get a Party Gift, and a cup they wont lose! No more asking "Who's juice is this?"

The economy is hard on all of us, but we still want our kids to enjoy the events that our area has to offer. Well, here is a cool web site where you can sign up for a news letter that will give you a list of local events! I tells you the location, prices, and what the event has to offer. And that's JUST in the news letter! The page offers lots more!! Check it out today!

"31 Days of Halloween" Day 2

Ok, so I'm a huge fan of everything easy!!!

The other day I was watching the Rachael Ray show, and I saw this recipe...

Well, Here is my twist -

Cut hot dogs into 1/2" slices - no thinner.

Prepare the corn muffin mix as directed on the box.

Spray each muffin cup with non-stick baking spray.

Fill each cup with 1 tbsp of muffin mix, place hot dog in muffin pan, and press down slightly (don't press it to the bottom), then put enough mix to just cover the top of the hot dog top.

Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until the top if golden brown.

Pop out let cool for 5-10 minutes. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce!
